VanDusen Plant Sale 2017

  • What: Thousands of plants are on sale at VanDusen this Sunday, with all proceeds going to the garden’s education programs. Plus in celebration of Canada 150, the Botanical Garden is offering free admission to explore the scenic living museum of plants collected from around the world.
  • Where: VanDusen Botanical Garden – 5251 Oak Street, Vancouver
  • When: April 30 from 10 am to 4 pm

Daffodil Dash

  • What: Add a spring to your step during Daffodil Month with the Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil Dash – a 1 km walk, 5 km run, and mini dash for kids that raises funds for cancer research and prevention and support for people living with the disease right now.
  • Where: Vancouver at Creekside Park, the North Shore at Ambleside Park and Port Moody at Rocky Point Park

Drunk Magic with Wes Barker

  • What: Magician Wes Baker will hold a live podcast with comedians Simon King and Ivan Decker where the drinking will begin. After the podcast, both Simon and Ivan will do 15 minute sets followed by Wes performing a magic show where the audience will choose the tricks and the drinks.

Hastings Park Winter Farmer’s Market

  • What: Find a great selection of local produce, fish, meat, dairy, artisan prepared foods, baked goods, local crafts, and food trucks.
  • Where: Hastings Park Centregrounds – 2901 East Hastings Street
  • When: Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm, until April 30

Axewood at Red Truck on Sundays

  • What: Join the Axewood Crew every Sunday at Red Truck Brewery for some axe throwing and a few beers. You can either come down and “Have A Throw” which is open to all regardless of experience (first timers welcome), or enter a weekly axe throwing “Beer League”. Axewood proceeds go to supporting Wellmen.org, a men’s health and adventure organization that uses the “wilderness” to bring men back to our true nature through soul stoking adventures.
  • Where: Red Truck Beer – 295 East 1st Avenue, Vancouver
  • When: Every Sunday from 12 pm to close
  • Cost: $15/10 for throws. Beer League Weekly Tournaments sign-up also available.

Get out and vote in advance of the BC election

  • What: Don’t wait in line on General Voting Day (May 9) and get your vote placed ahead of time!
  • When: April 30, May 3 to 6 from 8 am to 8 pm

Furry Tails Foot Race

  • What: A fundraiser to help Langley’s stray, lost and unwanted dogs and cats.  Put your best foot forward as you challenge yourself and other “heroes for animals” on the beautiful trails at Derby Reach.

Brothers Grimm Afternoon Tea at Notch8

  • What: If you’ve ever wanted to be transported right into a fairy tale, you can do so by booking a table at Notch8 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, where they are doing a special Brothers Grimm Afternoon Tea. Notch8’s setup in their Private Dining room has Red Riding Hood’s basket of breads and tiers of wooden log rounds are used to hold delectable goodies.

  • What: Bollywood’s popular singers Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik perform their biggest songs with Grand Symphony Orchestra.

7th Annual Vancouver Wheelmen Vintage Bicycle Swap Meet

  • What: Find yourself a beautiful vintage bike to roll this summer! Lots of vendors will be selling everything from complete bicycles to that missing piece you have been searching for to finish a project.

Hop Circuit 2017

  • What: Walk, skate, or bike over to East Van’s Brewing District for the second annual Hop Circuit, including free behind-the-scene tours, and the chance to taste some fresh beer and spirits. Take a self-guided tour or hop on the shuttle service provided by Vancouver Brewery Tours. Maintain your strength with grub from the many food trucks scattered around the neighbourhood.
