This Brothers Grimm-themed afternoon tea is a fairy tale come true

Afternoon tea can be a magical affair, taking you back in time to a more genteel era. If you’ve ever wanted to be transported right into a fairy tale land, though, you’ll want to book a table at Notch8 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, where they are doing a special Brothers Grimm Afternoon Tea that is absolutely enchanting.

Notch8’s setup in their Private Dining room covers all the bases, from Red Riding Hood’s basket of breads and treats to the main event: Tiers of wooden log rounds are used to hold all the delectable goodies you love at a fancy tea-time, nestled on a “dirt” floor.

You’ll find a seriously cuteĀ array of tea sandwiches and pastries for their Brothers Grimm tea service, in addition to tea–of course! And this time, you can safely bite into that “poisoned” apple, Snow White. You’ll have to bring your own crown and Prince Charming, though.

Luckily, Notch8 is at the ready to offer kiddos a Children’s Fairy Tale Tea service, and the restaurant can also accommodate dietary restrictions like gluten-free, vegan, or vegetarian–just make sure you indicate your unique needs when making a reservation.

Just like most magic spells, Notch8’s Brothers Grimm fairy tale tea won’t last forever. The restaurant is offering the afternoon tea through April 30.
