Sea Otter Awareness Week

  • What: Head down to the Vancouver Aquarium to celebrate Sea Otter Awareness Week. There will be fun and engaging “otter-themed” programs, daily feeds with the animal trainers, a sea otter puppet show and an educational “Life in a Kelp Forest” talk at the Strait of Georgia exhibit.

LUSH Gorilla Gallery Volume IV Tour Vancouver

  • What: LUSH is bringing its brand new Volume IV Gorilla perfume exhibit to Vancouver this week. Visit the Gorilla Gallery at 536 Seymour Street to experience each new fragrance in its very own interactive installation. You’ll be able to go along to the event to immerse yourself in the scents and the stories that inspired them. All of the Volume IV perfumes have been influenced by exceptional stories which you’ll see at the gallery – accompanied by featured films and photography.

BC Hop Fest 2017

  • What:  BC Hop Fest 2017 will take place on Saturday, September 30 in Abbotsford, offering a huge range of craft beers made with wet, fresh, green hops. This year, the festival is hosting more than 35 breweries and five food vendors.

  • Time: 1 pm to 6 pm
  • Where: BC Hop Company – 1905 Cole Road, Abbotsford
  • Tickets: On Showpass. Admission $33.25, including free parking, three drink tokens, and tasting glass. Admission plus shuttle from Vancouver is $70. Drinks tokens on site are $5 per three tokens. Event is cash only.

Comic Books Live!

  • What: Comedians bring new stories of public domain comic book characters to life! Created and hosted by Ian Boothby (The Critical Hit Show, writer of The Simpsons and Futurama comics).

Scream like Goku in front of the Olympic Cauldron

  • What: Fans of the hit anime series Dragon Ball Z fans plan to gather at the Olympic Cauldron in Vancouver to scream in unison in honour of the show’s hero, Goku. And, best of all, as well as screaming their lungs out; fans will even get the chance to meet the hero himself, well the guy who voices him at least, as Kirby Morrow will be on hand to offer personalized autographs for fans

Vancouver Cheese and Meat Festival 2017

  • What: The Cheese and Meat Festival allows consumers to taste their way through international and local meats, accompaniments (pickled items, chocolates, coffees, etc) and cheeses while pairing them with wine, beer, and cider. The festival takes place at the historic RoundHouse in Yaletown. All attendees will be given a small charcuterie board upon entry that will allow for samples to be placed on the board while vendors describe the item being showcased.

Ben Folds

  • What: Throughout his career, Folds has created an enormous body of genre-bending musical art that includes pop albums as the front man for Ben Folds Five, multiple solo rock albums, as well as unique collaborative records with artists from Sara Bareilles and Regina Spektor, to Weird Al and William Shatner. His most recent album is a blend of pop and classical original works, in part recorded with the revered classical sextet music that soared to #1 on both the Billboard classical and classical crossover charts.

Downtown Eastside Women’s Summer Fair & Flea Market

  • What: The summer fair provides safe income opportunities for women in the Downtown Eastside, and hosts more than 25 vendors and artisans from within the community. Each Saturday throughout the duration of the market, there will be lively entertainment from local performers, an area for children to play, information booths about the different resources available in the community, and a wide variety of goods and services for purchase.

Heritage Apple Day
