Hit Broadway musicals are coming to Vancouver's Stanley Park this summer
A longtime Vancouver theatre tradition returns to Stanley Park this summer with a pair of iconic Broadway musicals.
Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS)’ 2026 season and 86th year at the Malkin Bowl will feature Sister Act and Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
The shows will run on alternate evenings from July 3 to Aug. 22, and TUTS General Manager Kevin Woo is ready to welcome audiences back for fresh air theatre.

“From the nightclub to the nunnery, Sister Act’s Deloris forges a powerful bond with an unlikely sisterhood, unlocking her true potential as an aspiring singer,” said Woo. “And from an underwater grotto to a royal palace, Ariel in Disney’s The Little Mermaid must learn to trust in the strength of her inner voice to claim the life she has always longed for.
“Together, this year’s season invites audiences on a journey of connection, discovery, and the courage it takes to chase your dreams.”
Theatre Under The Stars
Sister Act is based on the 1992 hit movie starring Whoopi Goldberg, and it made its musical debut in London’s West End in 2009 and on Broadway in 2011. The multi-Tony Award-nominated musical tells the story of aspiring disco diva Deloris Van Cartier, who goes into witness protection at a nearby convent and helps turn the choir into a sensation.
Theatre-goers can also return to class for Disney’s The Little Mermaid, the film-turned-musical phenomenon that debuted on Broadway in 2008 and has toured all over the world. Dive into adventure with Ariel, a curious, young mermaid who dreams of a world above the sea, and who must break a curse with a true love’s kiss before it’s too late.
