Big change announced for The Weeknd concerts in Vancouver

Heads up if you’re checking out The Weeknd in Vancouver for the After Hours til Dawn Tour, a big change has been announced that may disappoint some Playboi Carti fans.
The Weeknd is playing two shows in Vancouver as part of the tour, one on Tuesday, July 15, and one on Wednesday, July 16, both at BC Place.
Carti was originally scheduled to join The Weeknd in Vancouver; however, due to some issues with entering Canada, that’s no longer the case.
While Carti is out, Mike Dean is still in for both Vancouver shows, according to a social media statement. The statement also indicated that Carti was still expected to join The Weeknd for its other Canadian stops; however, it was later shared that Carti will also be skipping the Edmonton show.
Playboi Carti will NOT be joining The Weeknd on the Vancouver shows of the #AfterHoursTilDawnTour.

According to a statement we received from BC Place officials, Carti experienced some “border crossing issues.”
Carti (who has over 13 million followers on Instagram) and his team have not shared any direct updates on his social media channels. For those unfamiliar with Carti, he’s an American rapper who released his latest album, Music or I Am Music, in March of this year.
Dean is a record producer who has worked extensively with The Weeknd. He has also opened up for The Weeknd in the past.
The Weeknd was in Vancouver in August 2022, and that show left some fans a little bit sweaty. Aside from the hot and sweaty conditions inside the stadium, some were even claiming that the stadium had run out of water. With temperatures expected to be warm over the next couple of days, you’ll want to make sure you’re well-hydrated if you’re attending.
Did you have tickets to the Vancouver show, and are you disappointed at Carti being replaced?
