Adopt my Shop is an initiative by Daily Hive, West Coast Technology Innovation Foundation (WCTIF), and the IT in Canada collective. Find out more on how to support your local small businesses here.

Located on 10th Avenue, The PokéMan Kakigori Café & Poké Shop has been serving up Hawaiian poké with a modern twist since 2017.

The poké spot was founded by two members of Vancouver’s restaurant scene, with the owner-chef Tomoki Yamasaki perfecting the detailed menu. The lineup of offerings is inspired by the techniques, ingredients, and flavours of Japan and the West Coast.

The PokéMan Kakigori Café & Poké Shop specializes in signature poké bowls made with fresh local tuna and sockeye salmon — like the popular Kame-Hame-Ha and Ponzu Salmon. Guests also have the option to build their own bowls, choosing the base, size, fish scoops, toppings, and sauces. Japanese-style curry is another mainstay on the menu. In terms of sides, there’s the house-made salmon miso, white and brown rice, kimchi, takuan (pickled daikon), and shibazuke (Japanese pickles).

Desserts like the light and delicious Kakigori (Japanese shaved ice), drinks, and snacks can also be ordered from The PokéMan Kakigori Café & Poké Shop seven days a week. Everything on the menu is currently available for walk-up orders, pickup, and also for delivery through DoorDash, Uber Eats, SkipTheDishes, and Fantuan Delivery.
