The Killers Vancouver 2017 show at Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre in December

Sep 26 2017, 12:40 am

American rock band The Killers are coming to Vancouver in December to play a show at Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre.

The chart-topping band will descend upon the venue at the University of British Columbia for one night only, on Wednesday, December 6.

The Killers will be touring their newly released album Wonderful Wonderful, the band’s first album in five years.

The Killers, named after a fictional band referenced in the music video for the New Order song Crystal, were formed in Las Vegas in 2001 by frontman Brandon Flowers.

They quickly became known for their arena-pleasing anthems in songs like Somebody Told Me, Mr Brightside, and All These Things I’ve Done.

Their debut album, Hot Fuss, has regularly been voted the best debut album of all time and Rolling Stone ranked it has one of the 100 best albums of the decade.

Since then, The Killers have gone platinum with Sam’s Town, garnered critical acclaim with Day & Age, and won more accolades with Battle Born.

Wonderful Wonderful is being touted as The Killers’ most sonically forward-thinking record, but with all the blazing choruses you’d expect.

While the album’s first single, The Man, garnered mixed reviews, the second, Run For Cover, has proven a huge hit with critics.

Tickets for The Killers Vancouver show will go on sale at 10 am on Friday, September 29, with pre-sales ahead of that to members of the band’s fanclub, The Victims.
