Global event The Feast connects Vancouverites passionate about social change

Dec 19 2017, 8:22 pm

A global event aimed at bringing together locals passionate about creating social change will be taking place this month in Vancouver and North Vancouver.

Called The Feast Worldwide, this “giant global roaming dinner party” is an offshoot of a NY-based conference and gathering that brings together people to imagine a brighter future through idea sharing.

The goal of these global meals is to spark collaboration that drives local entrepreneurs and social initiatives forward.

Here in Vancouver, there will be two gatherings–one in downtown Vancouver at Groundswell Cafe & Learning Space, and one in North Vancouver at Capilano University.

Not only will attendees enjoy dinner and table talk, but there will be speakers, and powerful conversations about innovating and initiating change.

Speakers at the Vancouver event include:

  • Chris Jerome, Director of Hawkers Market
  • Derek Juno, VP of Business Development for Mealshare
  • Joey Liu, Founder of The Food Connection
  • Annika Reinhardt, Community Impact Creator at Social Bites
  • Ruth Warren and Katie Ralphs, Co-Founders and Co-Farmers of City Beet Farm

Tickets are $35 student, $45 general and $270 for a table of eight.

In North Vancouver, attendees will hear from:

  • Jane Reitsma, Executive Director of Stratosphere International
  • Greg Smith, Co-founder and CEO of Thinkific
  • Charles Tsai, Director of Learning Networks for Ashoka Canada
  • Gilad Babchuk, Co-founder and Co-creator of Groundswell Economic Alternatives

Tickets are $45 early bird and $60 general admission.

This is not a Capilano University event. The Feast Worldwide North Vancouver is an event made possible thanks to the Capilano Students Union and passionate students coming together to progress the education system. Capilano University has been generous in lending both talent and space to host this progressive student lead event.
