The corner of Alberni and Thurlow is currently undergoing a massive overhaul. Both the 7-11 and Toni & Guy have vacated their store fronts at Thurlow and Alberni and The Keg will also be relocating next to the Shangri-La. It is assumed that the recently opened dollar store will go as well to make way for 4 luxury brands.
Deals with De Beers and Tory Burch for 2 of the 4 Alberni Street locations have been finalized. Our sources tell us there is room for two more luxury retailers and that the landlord is currently under negotiations with several other luxury brands. Who these remaining two retailers are is unknown at press time. Rumour has it that Chanel and possibly Kate Spade might be taking the remaining two spots.
