The TD Jazz Music Festival is back in Vancouver this month, and if you’re a fan of the drums, you definitely won’t be disappointed.
This year, the festival features some seriously talented drummers that will have you out of your seat and on the dance floor.
From Dan Weiss Starebaby to the Dave King Trucking Company, here are five drumming acts you’ve got to check out at this year’s TD Jazz Music Festival.
Dan Weiss Starebaby feat. Taborn, Dunn, Mitchell, Monder
Hailed as one of the top five jazz drummers by The New York Times, Dan Weiss’s forward-thinking compositions and innovative playing have pushed musical limits for years.

Jerry Granelli feat Robben Ford, Bob Lanzetti, J.Anthony Granelli & Horns
A dynamic force in jazz and improvisation for 60 years, Halifax-based drummer Jerry Granelli is a national treasure who’s played with Ornette Coleman, Sly Stone, and Vince Guaraldi.

Dave King Trucking Company
King is known as a “wonderfully aggressive, disruptive, driving drummer” who melds jazz percussion with his love of rock music.

Kai Basanta
Futuristic and funky, KNOWER is the imaginative brainchild of drummer and producer Louis Cole and singer Genevieve Artadi.
