PNE announces Taste of PNE Celebration, expanded Playland attractions
The PNE has announced the next round of events in its Summer 2020 lineup, including the return of a popular food festival and expanded attractions.
After reopening Playland in early July, the PNE has announced that it will be changing its schedule and opening more rides. Starting August 1, Playland will operate on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 11 am to 5 pm. Visitors will still be required to pre-purchase tickets in advance.
The amusement park has also announced that it will be reopening some of its most popular rides such as the Wooden Roller Coaster, the Beast, Westcoast Wheel, Pirate Ship, Atmosfear, Music Express, Breakdance, Rock’n’Cars, Dizzy Drop, and the Revelation.

The PNE will also be hosting another edition of its popular Taste of the PNE series over the BC Day long weekend.
The event will take place on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2 with multiple time slots each day and options for a drive-thru or dine-in experience. Each dine-in ticket, which is $49.50 and must be purchased in advance, includes admission, live entertainment, and dinner and a drink from some of PNE’s most popular vendors.
Food vendors at the event include Henry’s Chicken, Tin Lizzy, Steve O’s Deep Fried Desserts, and a selection of BC craft beer, cider, and wine.
Attendees that choose to participate in the dine-in experience will dine in an outdoor setting that the PNE says will be physically distanced with a 50-person capacity.
The PNE continues to remind guests to remain home if they’re showing any kind of cold or flu symptoms.
Playland also continues to use a number of health and safety measures such as limited capacity and transactions, plexiglass shields, hand sanitization systems, and mandatory masks.
Editor’s note: A previous version of this article stated that the Taste of the PNE would take place from August 1 to 3. The PNE has since adjusted its dates of operations to host the event on Saturday and Sunday only.
