Systemwide delays on SkyTrain's Expo and Millennium Lines due to software problem
Expect lengthy delays this evening on SkyTrain’s Expo and Millennium Lines.
TransLink has stated that systemwide holds are occurring due to a software issue that has affected a track switch between Joyce and Royal Oak stations. Major overcrowding issues are being reported along the system’s stations.
The issue began just after 6 p.m. and there is no estimate on when normal service will resume. Technicians are attempting to resolve the problem.
In the meantime, a bus bridge is being set-up between Joyce and Edmonds stations as well as from Edmonds to King George. Millennium Line trains are only running between VCC-Clark and Columbia stations.
More on this as it develops…
UPDATE at 7:20 p.m. – The Millennium Line is operating from Edmonds to VCC-Clark Stations while the Expo Line is operating from Waterfront to Nanaimo stations and Edmonds to King George stations. A bus bridge remains between Joyce and Edmonds stations.
UPDATE at 9:50 p.m. – The issues are now fixed. Regular service is resuming.
