Health Canada has issued a recall for Sysco brand White Navy Beans due to the presence of insects in the packages.

The recall was issued on November 5 on behalf of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

The affected products were distributed to hotels, restaurants, and other institutions across the country, Health Canada said.

Potentially bug-containing bags are 1.5 kilograms each and come in boxes of six. They have best before dates of July 17, 2022; August 18, 2022; and September 15, 2022.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has declared the recall to be a “class 3,” which means it poses little to no health risk.

This is the second recall this month concerning “extraneous material” in packaged food.

On November 3, Miss Vickie’s chips voluntarily recalled some products after pieces of glass were found in some bags.
