Metro Vancouver Transit Police is investigating after a suspect reportedly assaulted employees at a local restaurant.
Sergeant Clint Hampton says that a male suspect entered a restaurant in the area of Commercial–Broadway SkyTrain Station. The incident occurred last Friday at approximately 10 pm.
After entering, “the restaurant staff asked the man whether he had placed an order and he stated he had,” Hampton said in a press clip.
When restaurant employees told him that he had yet to place an order, he reportedly became “verbally abusive.” Hampton told Daily Hive the manager allegedly asked the man to be respectful and that he eventually left the restaurant.

The suspect returned a few minutes later after, and that’s when the alleged violent exchange occurred.
“He later returned to the restaurant, throwing a cup of coffee toward the restaurant staff and allegedly punching the store manager in the face,” said Hampton.
Police say that the investigation is ongoing and that a suspect has yet to be identified.
