Surrey RCMP search for suspect who allegedly groped woman

Surrey RCMP is currently investigating a sexual assault which occurred in Newtown last week.

According to police, just before 5:30 am on September 19, 2019, a woman was allegedly groped by an unknown man as she was walking southbound on 124 Street, between 78 Avenue and 80 Avenue.

Police say the suspect jogged past the woman, touching her as he passed by. He then ran to a nearby vehicle and fled the area.

The suspect is described as:

  • A South Asian male
  • 25 to 30 years old
  • 5’10” tall
  • Wearing black jogging pants and a black hoody with the hood up over his head

The suspect vehicle is a dark coloured sedan and the make and model has not been determined.
