Police seek answers after female youth grabbed from behind in Surrey

Police are seeking a suspect after sharing that a man wrapped his arms around a female youth who was walking on a residential street in Surrey.

According to the Surrey Police Service (SPS), the incident occurred on Feb. 6, 2026, at around 4:35 p.m.

SPS says that the female youth was walking eastbound on 100 Avenue in the area of 123a Street before a man approached her from behind, wrapping his arms around her upper body.

She was able to break free before the suspect fled southbound on 123a Street. SPS said that the victim was uninjured in the altercation.

SPS has released a brief description of the suspect as well as a grainy surveillance photo. He is described as an adult male, possibly White or Middle Eastern, and 5’10” tall. When he was last seen, he was wearing black sweatpants, black and white shoes, a black hooded sweatshirt, and a black and grey plaid or checkered jacket.
