Surrey Night Market coming to Cloverdale this summer

Dec 19 2017, 6:39 pm

Night markets are a boon for the cities of Richmond and North Vancouver – and now, Surrey is trying to get in on the business.

While the two massive Richmond destination markets are specifically Asian themed, the inaugural Surrey Night Market will be an open air event for local residents to sell and consume a variety of local foods, services and goods.

It will be a multicultural, family-friendly event, showcasing a variety of local talent in performing arts and creating an environment that promotes both community spirit and inclusion across the board.

Every night, local bands, singers, and dancers will get an opportunity to perform on the stage.

The summer weekend event is within close reach of residents living in Surrey and the region’s eastern municipalities. Organizers hope to have at least 70 vendors representing a spectrum of cultures and expect between 5,000 to 8,000 people to attend each event night.

In contrast, the Richmond Night Market has nearly 300 food and retail vendors and sees an attendance of about 10,000 per event night.
