One person dead after being hit by vehicle in Surrey

One person is dead after they were struck by a vehicle in Surrey this past weekend.

On Saturday at 4:42 pm, a pedestrian was hit as they crossed the street between the intersections of 108th Avenue and 148th Street, in the city’s Guildford neighbourhood.

The person was taken to hospital, but ultimately succumbed to their injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with police.

At this point, police said speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this incident.

Now, Surrey RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT), with the assistance from the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (iCARS) has taken over the crash investigation.
