Delta Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man in his 60s who allegedly assaulted a 14-year-old girl this week.

Around 8 am on Thursday, officers were called to the 11600 block of 82nd Avenue in North Delta, after the teen reported that a stranger had grabbed her around the waist as she was walking to school.

The girl was able to escape the man uninjured before running to her school, where she then reported the incident.

Police said the suspect is described as a 5’8″ tall Caucasian man with a slim build. At the time of the assault, he was wearing a black jacket, white t-shirt, blue jeans, flip-flops, and reportedly “holding a paper bag with alcohol inside it.”

In a statement, Delta Police said they are “actively investigating this incident and working closely with the Delta School District to ensure the ongoing safety of all students.”

Police are also asking anyone may have any information or even potential video of this incident and / or the area, to contact them directly at 604.946.4411.
