Have you noticed that many shoe stores are carrying crazy Lady Gaga-like platform shoes? Maybe it’s in preparation of Lady Gaga’s upcoming concert in Vancouver. She wants to ensure that all her little monsters are perfectly prepared with supa mega platforms. When I first noticed this trend, I was really wondering who would have the guts and the physical stability to walk in these things. Many of the them are studded, glittered, and leathered, making their height not the only aspect that’s shockingly flamboyant. Not only are these shoes a bit over-the-top, they seem a bit impractical.
This is probably why the glorious shoe sale wall at Topshop is filled with them. The sight makes you feel like you are in an art gallery showcasing a freakshow of shoes. This isn’t to say I haven’t seen anyone successfully flaunt these. I’ve seen it, and boy, kudos to those Vancouver girls who rock it with platforms. Platforms look best with ass-tight leggings or jeans and something simple on the top. But the most important necessity for pulling off supa mega platforms is your confidence and strut. If you’re not confident with these shoes, you are sure to look like a total freak, and probably bound to trip and fall on your face. You have to think Nick Minaj and Lady Gaga, but it’s easier said than done. You’ve gotta work it gurl! Personally, I can barely walk in three-inch heels, so I dare never to wear these. But now that many platforms are going on sale, maybe you’ll give them a try.
