When Tourism Chilliwack launched their #ShareChilliwack community video in November, it received over 15,000 views within the first 24 hours.
The video, created by Chilliwack’s own Inmist Media House, asks viewers to push past the noise and see what nature is hiding. Allison Colthorp, Tourism Chilliwack’s Executive Director, says that from a tourism perspective, it’s all about emotionally engaging potential visitors and giving them a sense of urgency to travel now.
“At Tourism Chilliwack we talk a lot about sentiment towards our community and what people’s perceptions are of our area,” says Vanessa Oddy, Destination Marketing Manager for Tourism Chilliwack. “Our goal at Tourism Chilliwack is to change people’s perceptions of Chilliwack. We want people to see Chilliwack with new eyes and wonder what it is that we are hiding.”
