Straight Outta Brooklyn is the latest addition to Vancouver’s ever-growing pizza scene, having opened its doors to the public last month.
The menu at this causal pizza parlour located at 350 Robson Street (across from Library Square), specializes in New York style by-the-slice pizza, characterised by a perfectly charred thin crust, light layer of tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella.

The restaurant offers eight different handmade pizzas, prepared with simple toppings, which can be bought whole (14 inch) or by-the-slice. These Straight Outta Brooklyn slices (also known as quarter pies) are flavourful and foldable, and similar to those found in pizzerias all over New York.
Diners who frequent Straight Outta Brooklyn can expect to find a delicious range of toppings like salami, ham, mushrooms, artichokes and olives, as well as an olive-based pie made up of plum tomato, garlic, basil and fresh arugula.

Not surprisingly, the menu list also features Margherita (tomato, fresh mozzarella and basil) and pepperoni, two New York staples. For those who can handle heat, the “spice” pizza (capicollo and spicy salami) is recommended.
The decor of this downtown pizzeria is bright and funky. There’s a handful of individual tables and window stools for eating, or customers can opt to order takeout.
