Dec 19 2017, 11:02 pm

Resource Works partners with sheTalks Global to present sheTalks Resources, featuring stories of women leaders and their connection to and journey through the resource sector.

The event takes place May 4, 2015 when women from across the sector will share their experiences, each with an each-minute segment, resulting in one high-impact day.

“Women are leading the way in ensuring resource development is taking place in environmentally, socially and economically responsible ways,” explains Stewart Muir, Executive Director of Vancouver-based Resource Works Society. “We are thrilled to partner with sheTalks Global to create an opportunity for women from the resource sector to share their journeys, their triumphs and their struggles.”

“We can all benefit from connecting with other women of different ages, life stages and within other sectors,” explains Barinder Rasode, Director Social Responsibility, Resource Works and Co-Founder sheTalks Global (sheTalks). “sheTalks provides a true platform for women to share their real, raw stories, to get to the core, the base level of who they are,” explains states Natasha Raey, CEO and Co-Founder, sheTalks.

“I became involved with sheTalks Resources because I believe in the importance of natural resource development and sharing stories,” noted Mona Forster, Executive Vice President of Entrée Gold Inc. and a member of the sheTalks Resources Advisory Committee. “sheTalks Resources provides a unique experience for anyone interested in the natural-resource sector to hear from talented women in varied leadership positions.  Natural resource development is integral to our way of life in so many ways, and this event creates an opportunity to glimpse the future,”

sheTalks Resources anticipates 200 women from various industries in the natural-resources sector to gather at BCIT’s downtown campus in Vancouver, B.C. The event is meant to bring people together for a respectful, fact-based dialogue on responsible resource development and to be inspired by stories of leaders in the sector.
