A staff member working at a Burnaby long-term care home has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to Fraser Health, the staff member works at Normanna, which is owned and operated by Norwegian Old People’s Home Association.

“A Fraser Health rapid response team is at the site and communication with residents and families is underway,” said Fraser Health. “The staff member is currently in self-isolation at their home.”

Enhanced COVID-19 control measures are in place at the site, and the health authority is working to identify anyone who may have been exposed.

In a press conference on Monday afternoon, Dr. Bonnie Henry announced that 294 new COVID-19 cases and four additional deaths have been confirmed in the province since Friday.
