BC health officials report 294 new coronavirus cases since Friday

BC health officials said on Monday that 294 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the province since Friday.

During a press conference, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said this includes 86 new cases between Friday and Saturday, 107 new cases between Saturday and Sunday, and 101 new cases between Sunday and Monday.

By specific health region, Henry said this equates to 1,900 known cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 3,042 in Fraser Health, 175 on Vancouver Island, 440 in Interior Health, 154 people in Northern Health, and 79 from those who reside outside the province.

The latest cases bring the total number of recorded cases in the province to 5,790.

There are currently 1,107 active cases in the province. Out of these active cases, 28 people are in hospital, and 10 of these are in intensive care.

There have been four new deaths in this same time period, as well.

A total of 4,406 cases are now considered fully recovered in the province, while 2,723 are being “actively monitored” by health officials, said Henry.
