14 rowdy Vancouver pubs to hit on St. Patrick's Day

By the luck of the Irish, this year St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Saturday.

Whether you’re planning on day drinking pints of Guinness or aiming to chow down on some traditional snacks inspired by the Emerald Isle, there is plenty to keep you occupied in Vancouver on Saturday, March 17.

1. The Blarney Stone

Anyone who’s ever been to the Blarney Stone before knows that it’s always a time full of debauchery. 2. Doolin’s Irish Pub

3. Koerner’s Pub

4. Dubh Linn Gate

Patrons who stumble over to the Dubh Linn Gate on St Patrick’s Day can expect live music all day long and a group of Irish dancers providing the entertainment.  Entry is $10 and is offered on a first come, first served basis, so don’t sleep!

5. Colony Bar

If you’re looking for some classic bar food, affordable drinks, and modern digs look no further. All those things and more make Colony’s two locations an awesome place to celebrate the Irish. 6. Mahony and Sons

7. Blackbird Public House

For a slightly more upscale option, be sure to check out the one the fanciest Donnelly Group pubs, Blackbird Public House. They’ll be offering $6 Guinness and $5 Jameson shots all day. Oh, and just in case you’ve had one too many drinks and feel like making a bad decision, they have a barber right on site, so stop in and get a haircut.

8. The American

The American is one of the newer bars on the revitalized lower Main Street, and provides great access to a bunch of other great bars and clubs in the Chinatown area. With a huge main room featuring a pool table, two bars, skee ball, and arcade machines, it’s the perfect place to bring a big group of friends.  If you’re there early enough, don’t forget to grab a boozy coffee!
