Vancouver Spirit Halloween store set to open in familiar spot

If you’re sick of summer in Vancouver and ready to get into the Halloween spirit, we’ve got some good news.

Spirit Halloween, one of the biggest Halloween costume and decor shops around, is set to open in Vancouver imminently.

We’ve heard directly from Spirit Halloween, which has informed Daily Hive that it plans to open at 1740 West Broadway on Friday, Aug. 15. If that location sounds familiar, it’s because it was the former home of Bed Bath & Beyond, which was eventually taken over by Rooms + Spaces before that store closed as well.

While it might seem too soon, as there is still a whole month of summer left, Halloween is only 78 days away, and the weather forecast this week has Vancouver feeling more like autumn.

It’s important to note that tomorrow is the “planned open” for the Broadway location, so it should be ready barring any last-minute developments.

You can already shop for costumes, accessories and other spooky items on the Spirit Halloween website.

Other locations will surely follow the opening of the Broadway location, but we don’t have any confirmed dates for them. If you search Spirit Halloween on job sites, you can see that the retailer is hiring for jobs around Metro Vancouver, including Langley and North Vancouver.

It’s not just Spirit Halloween either. Spooky festivities are beginning to pop up all around the city, including through Forbidden Vancouver. Forbidden, which operates a variety of tours around the city, began its Dark Secrets of Stanley Park tour this week.

The tour features many sinister stories, including the “macabre tale of Deadman’s Island.”
