The Rio is putting on a drag production of Spice World this month

If you’ve been looking to “spice up your life” lately, then the Rio Theatre has just the ticket for you, with a special event showing of the Spice Girls’ movie, Spice World.

On Monday, March 19, the movie comes alive onstage at the Rio Theatre, with a live shadowcast, featuring Vancouver’s own Spice Gurlz.

Audience costumes and participation is welcomed and encouraged at this event.

Doors open at 8:45 pm, and the movie begins at 9:30. Those interested in checking out this event are encouraged to arrive early and get a good seat.

According to organizers, those who attend the event can “experience the magic of the movie made even better with five of this city’s fave drag superstars taking the stage as Posh, Sporty, Scary, Baby and Ginger.”

The event is all-ages, with minors being permitted in the balcony area.

Tickets are $15 in advance, or $18 at the door.

Groupons and passes are not accepted for this event.
