An Indian-themed afternoon tea just started in downtown Vancouver

Sep 26 2019, 3:10 pm

Notch8 in the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is at it again with the themed afternoon teas, and this time, it’s new the Spice Merchant Afternoon Tea.

The newest tea available for guests is inspired by “the vast and diverse cuisine of India.”

From now until November 17, patrons can book a seat Wednesday to Sunday at three seating times – 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm.

Guests at this new service can expect to start with a rosewater panna cotta, a spiced chai tea scone, and a sweet butter scone.

For savoury eats there’s a marinated grilled chicken, braised beef roti, roasted eggplant, masala prawns, and lobster pakora.

When it comes to sweet stuff, a drool-worthy spread of chocolate barfi, gold saffron macaron, carrot halawa cupcakes, gulab jamun cheesecake, and almond and pistachio cardamom cake is offered during this service.

A selection of Lot 35 tea is up for order, along with wine, sparkling wine, and champagne, which are also available for an additional cost.
