Loblaws City Market to open huge new location at future SkyTrain station
Last year, Daily Hive shared that Vancouver City Council had approved of the construction of a significant mixed-use tower with rental housing, office, and retail uses directly above SkyTrain’s future South Granville Station.
The 407 ft tall, 39-storey tower will be located at 1477 West Broadway — the northeast corner of the intersection of Granville Street and West Broadway.

In addition to 223 secured rental homes, with 45 units stipulated as below-market units under the city’s Moderate Income Housing Pilot Program (MIRHPP), as well as 100,000 sq ft of office space, the building will also be home to over 7,000 sq ft of retail and restaurant space and a 22,000 sq ft grocery store.
While the retail and restaurant tenants have yet to be announced, we have some news on the brand that will be occupying the massive grocery space.
Loblaws City Market has been announced as the anchor tenant by PCI Developments.

The 22,000 sq ft space will occupy both the first and second levels of the building at 1477 West Broadway, providing the area with a convenient stop for groceries.
The timing of the store’s opening is not known at this time, but the tower itself — currently under construction — is expected to reach completion in 2025. The tower’s completion is timed with the opening of SkyTrain Millennium Line’s Broadway Extension reaching Arbutus, which is expected by early 2026.
Daily Hive has reached out to Loblaws for more details on this new location.
