“Hoard anything you can’t download.”

“Doing nothing is very different from having nothing to do.”

“Everybody on Earth is feeling the same way as you.”

These are just several of the “Slogans for the 21st Century” influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to renowned Vancouver visual artist and novelist Douglas Coupland.

Slogans have been plastered onto five billboards owned by Pattison Outdoor Advertising along the Arbutus Greenway in Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighbourhood.

Pattison and Canada Council for the Arts board member Kim Spencer-Nairn partnered with McKinley Studios for the project.

“COVID may have restricted our ability to visit museums and galleries, but the benefit of having art in your life does not have to disappear this season. It just might look different,” reads the description.
