UPDATE: SkyTrain resumes regular service after medical emergency

The Expo and Millennium lines are experiencing a service disruption this evening due to a medical emergency at 22nd Street Station in New Westminster.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. and is causing the Expo Line’s eastbound trains to turn around at Edmonds Station and westbound trains to turn around at New Westminster Station. Millennium Line trains are also affected, running only from VCC-Clark Station to Columbia Station.

No trains are running between Edmonds and New Westminster stations. 22nd Street Station is closed.

TransLink says a bus bridge is currently in the process of being organized between the affected stations of Edmonds and New Westminster.

At this time, there is no indication of when regular service could resume, but it will be a minimum of two hours.

  • UPDATE at 9:30 p.m. – Transit Police says the medical emergency has been cleared and regular service is now resuming.
