SkyTrain dates: 7 things to do around Lougheed Station

It’s one of the biggest points on the SkyTrain network – no matter where you live, Lougheed Town Centre Station is an accessible stop. If you know anyone who lives close by, you may have heard them brag (or complain) about the offerings in the area.

Tune your vocal cords at Silver Music Box Karaoke

  • What: A fun atmosphere with a decent selection of English music, it may be a little old, but they have all the Karaoke classics; Queen, Abba, Heart, and of course Britney. Be warned there’s no liquor on the premises so be sure to fill yourself full of liquid courage at The Pint 405 Pub first.
  • Where: 403 North Road, Coquitlam

Shop at Lougheed Town Centre

  • What: Certainly one of the quirkiest malls around Metro Vancouver. Lougheed has a bit of everything, an H&M, Steve Nash, Tommy Hilfiger; they even have a store called Epic Menswear. After an afternoon of shopping, you can cuddle up in the food court to end the day.
  • Where: 403 North Road, Coquitlam
  • When: Monday, Tuesday 10 am – 6 pm, Wednesday to Friday 10 am – 9 pm, Saturday 9:30 am – 6 pm and Sunday 11 am – 6 pm.

Go on a liquor store tour

  • What: A trifecta of liquor stores just waiting to pique your interest. After choosing only the very best from the Coquitlam Inn, Pint 405, and BC Liquor Store, you’ll be sure to have a great evening.

  • How much: Good wine starts at $15

Party it up at Lougheed Village Bar & Grill

  • What: An interesting mix of very young and very old people, there’s no in-between. Every day has a different game night including pool, shuffleboard, and bingo! If you’re not already sold, they’ve just added a fun array of BARcade games so you can play pinball while drinking a pint.
  • Where: 515 North Road, Coquitlam
  • When: Open 24 hours/day
  • How much: Around $12 a meal and $6 a drink

Feed ducks at the Duck Pond

  • What: A secret duck pong between the Lougheed apartment buildings. They have turtles, ducks and occasionally a few random fake swans floating around.

Study at the Cameron Library

  • What: Lougheed’s hot spot if you love the smell of aged books. A quiet ambiance with plenty of study nooks for privacy 😉.

  • When: Monday to Thursday 10 am – 9 pm, Friday, Saturday 10 am – 6 pm and Sunday 12 pm – 5 pm.

  • What: The best pre-Halloween date idea around. Go try on hilarious outfits and maybe even walk away with a few hip threads to add to your wardrobe. Try to guess facts about the original garment owners for maximum thrifting hilarity.
