New gluten-free commissary kitchen to open in Vancouver this summer

Introducing The Skript Kitchen, a new 3,500 sq. ft. gluten-free dedicated commissary kitchen coming to Vancouver.
The new food hub, which will offer a space for food entrepreneurs to grow and scale up their food processing, manufacturing, and catering businesses, is expected to open in Olympic Village sometime this summer.
Skript Kitchen will offer a state-of-the-art shared kitchen space alongside a rooftop event space for networking and product launches. Skript even teased that future event spaces may also be added.
“I’ve been in the industry since 2010, and there is definitely a lack of shared kitchen spaces that are 100 per cent gluten-free that will help people achieve the level of trust needed for their products,” explained Renée Chan, founder of The Skript Kitchen.
“We are located in an entirely new building. Having worked inside a commissary kitchen for many years, I was able to build The Skript Kitchen from scratch to the specs I would want as a food entrepreneur – more space, less crowding, larger-scale equipment, and a curated layout that works well for food production of all kinds.”
Chan is a registered dietitian and chef known best for her health-focused food education. In 2015, she founded True NOSH (which is now Ah Nui Asian Foods) to teach healthy cooking classes to the community. She’s since launched a line of sugar-free, low-sodium, and high-fibre products like gluten-free dumpling flour, XO sauces, and more.
“According to the Government of B.C., food and beverage processors contribute 60 percent of the sector’s GDP and over $5 billion in exports to more than 150 international markets,” added Chan. “The Skript Kitchen will provide a space for our talented, culinary businesses to grow in this province and beyond.”
Applications from food businesses that want to use The Skript Kitchen are available online. However, it’s important to note that applications for ghost kitchens will be declined.
