Vancouver Police are investigating two separate, overnight shootings on the city’s east side, which sent two men to hospital with serious injuries.
According to police, the first shooting occurred around midnight, near Kingsway and Gladstone Street, when a 44-year-old man from Vancouver was shot “multiple times” outside a restaurant.
The second shooting occurred around 4:30 am in the city’s Downtown Eastside neighbourhood.
The victim, a 35-year-old man from Surrey, was located by police near East Hastings and Heatley Avenue.
Investigators said the shootings appear to be unrelated, but police believe both were targeted incidents. They also believe there may be people with information to share with police.
