It’s a rare sight for students at Simon Fraser University (SFU) as morning classes have been cancelled.
At 8:50 am, the university announced that due to poor weather and road conditions, all classes at the Burnaby campus that start before noon are cancelled.

2/2: If you are on Burnaby mountain, please stay on Burnaby Mountain until road conditions improve. If you are in transit, return home or to another campus. An update will be posted at 10am regarding afternoon classes. Vancouver and Surrey campuses remain at regular operations.

Anyone on Burnaby Mountain is recommended to stay on the mountain until conditions improve.
Those who are mid-transit are being asked to return home or to another campus.
Classes at SFU’s Vancouver and Surrey campuses are proceeding as scheduled.
Update:
At 10:05 am, SFU announced that classes on its Burnaby campus would resume at 12 pm.
Students are advised to give extra time during their commute and travel safely.
Classes on SFU’s Burnaby campus will resume at noon today. Weather has cleared and driving conditions are improving. There may be some delay as buses return to their schedule. Please allow extra time and travel safely.
