Sexy Juice expands into Vancouver with new Fairview Lounge

Dec 20 2017, 3:30 am

Summer and Brad Dotinga, the husband and wife duo behind Sexy Juice, have transformed a modest space in Fairview, originally occupied by Cadence Cycling Studio, into a welcoming juice lounge.

The Lounge, which is an extension of Sexy Juice’s Abbotsford lab, boasts a variety of nutrient-dense bottled cold-pressed juices, nut mylks, curated smoothies, salads, house-made vegan soups and sandwiches, and grab-and-go breakfast items made-on-site by Lindsay Peterson (previously at Gorilla Foods).

Having laid a solid foundation (since its conception back in May 2013) delivering health-focused cold-pressed juices to home addresses and businesses around the city, opening a store front was the next logical step for Sexy Juice. Summer and Brad hope to use the newly acquired space to expand the company’s beverage line.

The pair, along with the rest of the Sexy Juice team also aim to keep promoting the juicery’s tag line, Healthy is Sexy. “Although our name is cheeky and grabs your attention what we want people to remember is this message,” says Summer.

“To us this means that ‘sexy’ is not just about being a certain size, shape, demographic, or whatever we put our focus on. Being sexy starts from within, making healthy choices to make you better from the inside first and we believe that reflects to the outside. Cheesy but true,” elaborates Summer.

While health and wellness are at the forefront of Sexy Juice’s agenda, the company doesn’t take itself too seriously (hence the name).

“We want our customers to know that we are real people behind Sexy Juice, [and] we want to be a company that is a source of encouragement for anyone, regardless of nutrition level,” adds Summer.

Currently, customers who pop into this somewhat hidden spot (Sexy Juice is situated in a courtyard behind Farmer’s Apprentice) will find an array of Sexy Juice’s cold-pressed blends, like The Energizer, which is comprised of apple, pineapple, coconut water, and chia seeds. Similar to the juicery’s other invigorating concoctions on offer, this replenishing drink aids in digestion, regulates blood sugar levels, and is rich in Omega-3.

As of right now, Sexy Juice’s colourful and approachable juices are packaged in convenient grab-and-go bottles, which are brought in from Sexy Juice’s lab every second day or so (unpasteurized cold-pressed juice only has a shelf life of three days). However, Summer and Brad may shake things up a bit in the near future, and offer made-to-order fresh-pressed juices.
