The Vancouver Police Department alerted the public after a local resident found a semi-automatic rifle near Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park this week.
VPD shared on X that the West End resident found the gun, along with magazines of ammunition, in some bushes just west of Lost Lagoon on March 18.

The force shared a photo of the gun and dozens of bullets after it was recovered. Officers are trying to figure out who put the gun there and who owns it.
Police ask anyone who knows anything about how the gun ended up in the bushes near Lost Lagoon to call them at 604-717-3321 and reference file number 2025-46216.
