Science World is hiring and one job pays up to $110K per year

One of Vancouver’s most iconic attractions is hiring and one of the jobs has a pay range that has us saying, “Eureka!”

Science World welcomes 850,000 visitors each year to the charitable non-profit and science centre in the city’s False Creek area.

“It takes a wildly diverse and passionate team of people to engage students of all ages — that means toddlers and adults, too,” said Science World on its career page. “We aim to expose STEAM subjects for what they really are — creative, imaginative, fun, and crucial for our science and technological challenges of the future.

There are currently two open positions at Science World, though more jobs are listed on its website throughout the year. They are:

Science Facilitator

Science World is looking to add a Science Facilitator to its team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful applicant will help with services and educational programs both in person and online, ranging from stage presentations to digital and live school programs. The Science Facilitator will also be a mentor for High School Work Experience Volunteers, and eventually take on the role of a regular, rotating daily supervisor.

This position pays an hourly wage of $23.50 an hour.

Senior Manager, Major Gifts

Science World explains that the Senior Manager, Major Gifts will take on growing major gift revenue for the organization. The Development team role involves working with senior staff and volunteers to help bring large gifts to the organization and rapidly increase revenue in both in the short and long term. Those with an ability to build important relationships with donors, community leaders, staff, volunteers and the wider community are encouraged to apply.

This job pays a salary range of of $90,000 to $110,000 per year.
