Yesterday, we reported that the famous Rumpus Room on Main Street will be closing to make room for condos. Now a petition has been set up urging the mayor to stop the demolition.

The Rumpus Room on Main St. is being forced to shut-down and will be demolished to make room for yet another condo development.
Rumpus Room co-owner, Rachel Zottenberg, fought a lengthy legal battle to keep the eclectic Mt. Pleasant eatery open — but lost and will be forced to shut down at the end of the month. The Rumpus Room is slated to be demolished soon thereafter.
The Waldorf, The Ridge, W2, The Rumpus Room…The City of Vancouver is quickly becoming a cold, unaffordable, and desolate cultural wasteland.
Mayor Gregor Roberston we call on you to stop the demolition of the Rumpus Room on Main St. and take serious measures to protect historical and cultural spaces in our city.
