Another Sasquatch music festival has come and gone and more Canadians flocked to Eastern Washington four four days of jam-packed music and madness. 2013 was the year of collaborations; while some festivals choose to have a set where a couple different bands will choose some songs to play together, or set appearances are just expected, Sasquatch blew us away with the freedom the artists could take in inviting each other on stage, and the crowd seemed to feed off it and become ever-friendly amongst each other. Some of these collaborations included the Marcus Mumford joining Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, and then returning the favor later on during Mumford and Sons’ set, Natalie Bergmann joining Elvis Costello, and Michael Kiwanuka’s star studded cover of the Band’s “the Weight” . Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready also made a surprise appearance Memorial Monday to perform the national anthem on his guitar.
