New in Town: First Look at The Roof in Black & Blue

Dec 19 2017, 3:22 pm

The Roof, the much anticipated rooftop patio of the Glowbal Group’s Black & Blue Steakhouse will be open to the public on Thursday, April 25! This will be Vancouver’s largest rooftop patio as it has a seating area that can accommodate 120 guests. The Roof is located on the third floor of Black & Blue and it serves as both an outdoor restaurant and lounge for guests.

Here’s a special first look at The Roof:

The Roof has an electronic ceiling that can be adjusted depending on the weather, making it an appropriate place to dine whether its rain or shine.

The embers on The Roof add a very romantic touch to the area during evenings.

The Roof looks out to the tall neighboring buildings on Alberni street.

The Open Kitchen and Bar on The Roof is the first of its kind in Vancouver. This is the second kitchen in the restaurant and it caters specifically for guests dining on the patio.

Now, for the food. Black & Blue will soon be offering an extensive selection of fresh-baked pizzas that serve as fantastic appetizers or snacks.

Being one of the city’s leading steakhouses, Black & Blue carries a large selection of fine meats from around the world. From Kobe’s tender steaks to Australia’s leaner steaks, it’s guaranteed that you’ll find your ideal steak here. The tip is to ask your server or chef for suggestions based on  how you like your steak cooked. They’re always ready to help!

Glowbal Group is very proud of their new Josper Charcoal Oven on The Roof.

The Roof features a state-of-the-art Josper Charcoal Broiler Oven by Wood Stone – the first of its kind in Canada. Currently there are only 20 of the rare ovens being specially-made for select steakhouses in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. The unit combines the features of an enclosed oven with the traditional characteristics of charbroiled cooking. The Jopser reaches internal temperatures of 1700 degrees Fahrenheit, cooking steaks to perfection in minutes. (from Immedia press release)

A decadent dinner isn’t complete without an equally decadent dessert. The 20 Layer Chocolate Espresso Cake at Black & Blue is one that’s very hard to resist. Served by the slice alongside some whipping cream and brandied cherries, many have claimed this to be the best chocolate cake they’ve ever tasted.

A new upcoming dessert is the 23 Apple Pie (name is subject to change). The reason for the name is because there’s a total of 23 apples inside each one of these massive pies! This pie will be baked fresh daily and it will also be served by the slice. Yum!
