The Richmond RCMP have been catching speeding drivers left and right over the past few days.
Less than 24 hours after catching a motorist on the race for pizza, a Mercedes-Benz has been impounded for speeding to work.
Early this morning, a driver was pulled over for clocking 134 km/h on Sidaway Road, a 50 km/h zone.
A tweet from police suggested that the driver was late for work and warned social media users that a “fatal motor collision could result in an instant, with zero margin for error.”
Late for work? At 134 kmph in a 50 zone along Sidaway Rd, a serious if not fatal motor vehicle collision could result in an instant with *zero* margin for error. $468 fine + 7 day vehicle impoundment. Road safety should be in everyone’s best interest. pic.twitter.com/HY2eeEQ6CC

The driver received a $468 fine and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
Here’s to hoping that these recent incidents give other road-users reason to slow down.
