Richmond RCMP warn public after animal traps found in local park

Richmond RCMP are warning the public after the discovery of two animal traps in a local park.

According to Cpl. Dennis Hwang of Richmond RCMP, officers were dispatched to the 12000 block of Ewen Aven on October 8, 2018, shortly after 2:30 pm to assist with the removal of the traps.

Hwang confirmed that one of the traps was live at the time.

“Our officer managed to disarm it safely. Both traps have been seized for investigation,” said Hwang.

“We are actively investigating this incident. We are very concerned that these traps been left in an area where serious harm could result to animals, pets, and humans.”
