The City of Richmond is planning a $245,000 Labour Day weekend party.

According to 24 Hours News, the festival will feature three stages, including a main stage for entertainment, a secondary stage for multicultural entertainment and a third stage for culinary demonstrations. 30 food trucks are already confirmed to be on scene.

There will also be “Wide World of Sports Zone” for the promotion of smaller sports like shinty and kabaddi.

“This festival will celebrate Richmond’s significant diversity through music, food and culture and will have the potential to become a destination event,” said Bryan Tasaka, Richmond’s manager of major events, in a report to city council.

The party, potentially named ‘Lulubaloo’, will take place on September 5 at Minoru Park.
