The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has identified the victims of a double homicide that occurred in Richmond on March 19.

In a statement shared on social media, IHIT said it was releasing the identities of the deceased to “further the investigation.”

The victims are Chaten Dhindsa, 25, and Joban Dhindsa, 23, both of Richmond. The two were brothers and were known to police.

“This is believed to be a targeted incident related to the victims’ involvement in the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict,” said Detective Lara Jansen.

“We are urging anyone with information to contact IHIT.”

At 4:45 am on Friday, Richmond RCMP Frontline officers responded to a structure fire in the 22000 block of Rathburn Drive.

The two men were found dead inside the home after the fire was extinguished. Their injuries were “consistent with a homicide,” and IHIT took over the case.

Anyone with information is asked to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-4448 or [email protected]. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers via 1-800-222-8477.
