Learn how these 4 influencers are cashing in on social media

Nov 15 2016, 1:45 am

You’re on social media all the time – you might as well make it work for you.

On November 24, four local influencers are getting together to talk about how they built their careers through their social media accounts during the panel From Passion to Paycheck: How local influencers are making it happen.

The event, hosted by RED Academy, is aimed at people looking to use their digital skills and social media accounts to move their side-projects from hobbies to paying gigs. The four panel speakers will discuss how you can build a personal brand, how you can improve your side-hustle, and what being an influencer actually means.

The influencers at this panel work in a number of different businesses, from outdoor and lifestyle photography to branding and illustration. The speakers are:

  • Caley Dimmock, brand and marketing manager at Daily Hive and creative director of DIMIK, an e-commerce apparel brand
  • Ally Pintucci, content creator and social connector who uses photography to inspire curiosity and empathy
  • Sarah Namrood, owner of HairbyNamrood Salon
  • Kate Zessel, Whistler artist working for brands like lululemon and Patagonia

The event will take place on November 24 at RED Academy in Vancouver. Tickets are free, and everyone with a passion they want to grow is encouraged to attend.
