“A frontal system will continue to give rain today as it tracks across the southern BC coast,” says Environment Canada in a statement.

Between 20 to 50 mm of precipitation has fallen across Metro Vancouver since Monday evening, with an additional 20 to 30 mm expected. Over the Howe Sound, 35 mm of rain has fallen, with another 10 to 15 mm anticipated.

The weather agency says that the rain will continue today and ease up this evening.

“Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads,” says Environment Canada. “If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.”
