A local photographer has the Bowen Island ferry looking like a pot of gold in a stunning image of a rainbow shining directly on the boat.
Emmett Sparling noticed a moment Friday evening when the rainbow perfectly aligned with passenger ferry, and the colours illuminated the boat against the darker mountains and ocean.
“What a beautiful place we live,” Sparling told Daily Hive via Instagram message.

When he noticed a break in the clouds over Bowen making it sunny and rainy at the same time, he knew the conditions could lead to a rainbow.
“I didnāt have my camera, unfortunately,” he said, so he “ran down to the dock and took this shot on my iPhone.”
A friend once told him the best camera is the one that’s with you, and Sparling wrote on Instagram that he “fully agrees.”

Some people even saw a double rainbow in other parts of Metro Vancouver, and Daily Hive reader Barbara Berta sent in her view from Burnaby.

The rainbow was also vivid over New Westminster.
Rain is in the forecast for the rest of the weekend, but Environment Canada says the sun should return to the Lower Mainland on Wednesday.
