Vancouver may be drying out from the atmospheric river that drenched the region this past weekend, but you’ll still want to keep your umbrellas nearby.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), Vancouver is in for a mixed bag of weather this week, with more rain in the forecast.
Some rays of hope remind us that spring is on the way, though. And temperatures are continuing to creep upwards, too.

Vancouver’s weather forecast for the week begins with a chance of showers on Monday, transitioning into periods of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The region may get some sunshine as the weekend approaches, but the rain returns for the weekend, so you may want to plan for some indoor activities.
Daily Hive recently spoke with Colin Fong, a meteorologist with ECCC, regarding what Vancouverites should expect to see as we transition from winter into spring.Ā
āMarch will start with little rain, but warm conditions will continue into next week,ā said Fong.
āAs far as precipitation, the overall signal for March could be a little wetter than normal. Weather models are having trouble agreeing on weather patterns.ā

March usually brings an average of 104 millimetres of rain.
While there might be some soggy weather in the forecast for the next few weeks, the sunshine is a nice reminder that spring is on its way. The new season will officially start on March 20 for those who want to mark it on their calendars.
